AMA COMPUTER LEARNING CENTER (ACLC) "goes to HOLLYWOOD"

All of the students are busy preparing for the biggest event in college, the “ACQUIANTANCE PARTY”. Others are busy practicing their presentation, and also others are busy with what will they wear for the event.

I know some of the students are so…excited if who will be their date or “maparis” in Acquaintance, Some are quite but totally excited and I am one of them and some are not really interested about the party.

We the freshmen and the transferees are curious about what is the Acquaintance Party in college, if it is the same? Like in High school, But I think it’s the same but it’s more enjoyable and more excitement.

Can’t wait for the Acquaintance Party…

This is it, this is really is it!!! The day we’ve been waiting for has much no longer, the “ACQUIANTANCE PARTY”. The preparations, the practices, and the excitement are all done…

We came to the Mandaue Sports Complex, brought nervous to what I was wearing because I don’t know if my outfit is fit in the theme “HOLLYWOOD”. I see all girls we’re wearing whole dresses, cocktail dresses, and some are Sunday dresses. I was actually said to myself “mu uli nalang kaha ko? Ai basta!!! Keri ni naku!” so, I stand up straight and front them. Some students staring at me but I don’t care a penny of their thoughts if what was there mean for that stare and some are murmuring that I was “maldita” but I don’t care neither, I was just being me…

After an hour of waiting to start the program, the band hit our ears by their songs like screamo!!!  I was laughing that time because all of the students we’re covering their ears to sign that they don’t like the music. Some are shouting, murmuring, whispering and some are enjoying the music, but I… A big NO!!! After along screamo songs, our P.E teacher, Mr. Edward Pantinople broke the silence; we enjoyed his songs and his dance that many students caught his attention.

The food was all ready pack to eat; all students form a line to get their food. Some students are doesn’t tastes good, but some are liking it “hasta ang Styrofoam ma apil nala’g kaun” but I guess, it’s my taste buds are not ok because I’m sick that time ,not feeling well because of the cough and sneeze.

The program was starting.”Nanimbawt among balhibo” to what we saw, the Invocation. I saw it in YouTube, I was really so… amaze because I saw it in actual “doble pa sa amaze!!!”I observe some of my “katapad” are shouting and clapping to what they saw but I think “dili pwede” to shout and clap because it’s Invocation or a prayer in other term.

The Invocation was finish, all participants are preparing for their dance presentation. All participants are all good most especially the BS HRM… even though I was just a props man that time, I was a sign at the lights and the music. I was afraid because two times of technical error but we don’t change horses in the middle of the stream. I made a way just to be successful the presentation of BS HRM.

The presentation of the faculty members was the most awaited part of the students. They we’re all in character…all students are “pinagkaguluhan sila” picture here... picture there…and everywhere! They are actually liked a Hollywood star with their costumes.

After the presentation of the faculty members, the host Mr. Samuel Sacapaño Jr. called some names of the students and my name also called. I went up on stage and front all students of AMA Computer Learning Center (ACLC). I was shocked and nervous because I am one of the contestants that have a capability of the Hollywood attire that night. I didn’t expect that I will be one of them. When the host said that the contest will be judging by the loudest clap of the students, I was so afraid because I don’t know if “naa bay mu pak-pak naku?”Because I know some students doesn’t like me. But I was just ignoring them because I know there are insecure to my beauty!!! “Harhar”. But I guess many of the students are liked me because “napili-an ko” for the top 4, but I was expecting that I will not won because the three contestants we’re so beautiful and their outfit too are also match to the theme Hollywood… but at least I am one of the categories which are “gipili-an” for the contest.

It’s DISCO FEVER!!! The music grooves all the students of ACLC, some are observing liked me, some are grooving to the max of music. And some are dirty dancing. I was just roaming and observing people that time, I saw some lovers we’re torrid kissing and mostly I saw some students are “nag pasa-pasa ug candy” to the other girls with their mouth… so disgusting!!!

I reminisce my highschool life and I compared the college life to the highschool life. That college was more open in public and more liberated actions and most especially “pwede mag tagay ang mga students and Teachers”. I know that college people are matured but it doesn’t mean they will abuse it… I miss my highschool life … “hahai”

I was expecting to see my crush but I don’t saw him, I really expecting that he and I will be danced in disco. But all of that was only in my dreams, so that night, I was so alone but I have some friends to cheer me up.

The party was over, all students are packing up and fix their selves to go home and brought happy moments with their faces.”Daghan jowd nag ka-uyab atong gabi-una! Klaro kayo, ha-ha”...

·        I don’t really enjoyed the night … Some are “kulang” in preparations and I was discouraged and disappointed some things that I was really expecting that NEVER happened…
